About Me
Teacher of English, experienced &
qualified in Special Needs
I am a qualified English Teacher, a GCSE examiner and have a Masters Degree in Special Educational Needs and have DBS clearance. With many years experience in marking GCSE English Language Papers, I understand exactly what examiners are looking for in students’ answers. This gives me a unique insight as to what is needed to build the confidence and skills required for your child in order that they maximise their true potential and worth.

I have been working as an online tutor since the pandemic. I will continue to offer online tutoring to those students who prefer it or who are too far away to make it practical for face to face tuition. I offer intensive revision sessions up to mocks and during some of the holidays, for those that request it.
One of my major strengths is in helping those young people with needs or disabilities through their English GCSEs, helping them gain the best grades that they possibly can, in some cases, far beyond what was expected of them. It is a joy to see the transformation that occurs - from someone who thinks they cannot do it, to someone who is confident and empowered to succeed.
I have even been known to turn around disaffected teenagers, who lack motivation, to change their mindset and go on to achieve high grades!
My proven teaching methods have consistently secured greater than expected levels of progress with many children attaining their highest grades. It is my belief that with the right support in place, your child too will achieve similar levels of success regardless of their starting point. My personal qualities of patience, understanding, kindness and bundles of energy, dovetailed with a sense of humour, will ensure that your child will thrive and want to learn, learn, learn.
Please contact me, Helen Crocker, for further information of how I am able to help your child develop to their full potential and secure a foundation for their future that they, and you, so fully deserve. Learn. Achieve. Maximise.
